Quartos, pp. 4 (notes to East India Co. and the public), xxxii, 591; xi, 1 (ad), 372, 1 (postscript), marbled boards, 15 illustrated plates including a folding display of the lunar mansions and a double-page plate showing the Oriental zodiac (another plate shows the ancient Egyptian zodiac). Most plates show deities. Covers avatars, the earliest history, astronomy and astrology, accounts of the General Deluge, ancient invasions and the life of Creeshna. Condition of this set: Poor: boards loose, backstrip gone, binding brittle. Many leaves stained, scattered heavy foxing, yet many leaves are clean and bright. Good candidate for a rebinding. Size: Quarto. 2-volume set (complete). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Front and back boards both detached.
