J.J. MARQUET DE VASSELOT and M.-J. BALLOT. Chinese Ceramics in 2 portfolios, Paris: Albert Morance, 1922. Measuring 24x19cm or 9.5x7.5 inches, pp. 31, 40 loose plates; 30, 43 loose plates (there should be 44 but No. 19 is missing); printed boards quarter-bound in blue cloth and ribbon-tied, former owner's ID inked inside front cover. Some of the plates are hand-painted, some are monochrome, some are tinted. First volume covers the Han to Ming periods (206 B.C. to 1643), second volume covers K'ang-Hsi to 1911. Specimens used are in the Grandidier Collection at the Louvre in Paris. Condition of this set: First portfolio is splitting along front joint, age-toning throughout, images fine. Size: Quarto. 2-volume set (complete). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1.
