JOSEPH NASH. The Mansions of England in Olden Time, London: William Heinemann, 1912. Folio, new edition, pp. [ii], 104 plates, 2 (list of plates), maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and front, blind-stamped mansion doorway on front with gilt decoration, old bookseller ticket on free front endpaper. Preface by Reginald Blomfield, with reprints of original lithographs by Nash. They were released on cardboard mounts in four series that began in 1839. Tooley, p. 275: "One of the most important of the lithograph books when coloured, there being an enormous difference in value between the two states." The present plates are almost all color. Condition of this book: Rubbed at corners and spine ends, very good and sound. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
