Bone and Son binding with their ticket on the rear pastedown. This is the book edition of a story that was first sold in parts by subscription. Subtitled "An Unfashionable Novel," it travels the same territory as the author's brother Henry, who chronicled the seamy, down-and-out side of Victorian London. Condition of this book: Both hinges split, boards scuffed with a couple chips in front joint. Inside clean, illustrations fine. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
