NICK KENNY. Getting an Earful, New York: Poetic Publications, 1932. Octavo, first edition, pp. 67, blue cloth boards with black stamped lettering inside a box on front. Front endpages host a splotchy, cartoonish dedication from the author to Arthur Brisbane, the renowned newspaper editor. Kenny worked as an editor at the New York Daily Mirror, a product of the Hearst company, in which Brisbane was prominent. Kenny's poetry is simple, sentimental and meant to appeal to readers who didn't have a lot of time and patience for poetry. Scarce; OCLC locates only two copies. Condition of this book: Covers sunned at edges, ink stains at bottom edge created by the author's drawing. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Poetry; United States; 1930s; Antiquarian & Rare. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request.
