Part of the publisher's Series of English Idylls, which was illustrated entirely by Brock, a disciple of Hugh Thomson. The great illustration collector Gordon Ray noted that English Idylls sums up Brock's work here (see Ray, The Illustrator and the Book in England, p. 182). Condition of this book: Very good with a spot on spine, rear panel and top edge darkening, cracks in front and rear hinges. Very clean and bright inside. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: Octavo (standard book size).
