Octavo, a later edition "continued by his grandson and others," pp. xxxvii, 624; viii, 517, full sheep with morocco labels to spines, frontis engravings, engraved title pages, all edges marbled, facsimile of correspondence, 12 folding plates showing various Franklin ideas and inventions. Title page says this set is "augmented by much matter not contained in any former edition." Not in Sabin or Howes. Volume 1 contains the memoirs, correspondence and writing on the peace negotiations. Volume 2 has Franklin's political writings pre-Revolution, plus his philosophical (that is scientific and technical) work. Condition of this book: Covers edge-worn but overall good and sound. Illustrations have tanned to various shades, but text leaves are unusually bright, with occasional foxing. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 2-volume set (complete). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
