Oblong folio, first edition, pp. 54, 1 (colophon), black cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and front, gilt man with a scythe on front, large woodblock prints, signed by the artist-author on Page 1, 50 years after the book was released. Leighton was at her best with rural subjects, and this, her first book, set a high standard. The prints are presented in month-by-month order with text explaining the work that needed to be done each month. Condition of this book: Covers stained, discolored. Faint water stains at top and bottom edge, but overall good and sound. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
