Quarto, first edition, pp. xiv, 78, printed boards quarter-bound in black cloth with a paper label on the spine, 8 color plates, ex-library with typical library markings. The plates are by masters of Japanese art, including Utamaro, Hokusai and others. They were made by the House of Watanabe, which cut copies of the original woodblocks. Condition of this book: Covers darkened, rubbed and chipped at edges. Inside age toned, but prints look great. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
