Dent, undated (1910-1920). 12mo, first Rackham edition, pp. 128 plus 8 color plates, green cloth boards with gilt lettering, elaborate decoration and a color print on front, gilt coat of arms on back, bookplate on front pastedown identifies this volume as a 1920 school prize. Glaring errors in this copy scream "first printing!" The title on the cover is different from that printed on title page, and the title page identifies the art as Arthur Rackham's but "coloured by W. Cubitt Cooke," contrary to the statement on the cover. The story is for older children and young adults. Condition of this book: Covers faintly rubbed at edges, endpapers browned, leaves' bottom edge dusty, but overall very good to near fine. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
