Tall folio, so-called Enthronement Edition, pp. 177, purple cloth covers with cloth ties, metal and cloth spine, halftone photos with one tipped-in color print. English-language publication, includes 45 pages of advertising by American companies doing business in Japan, many of them long gone. Good description of the elaborate pageantry surrounding the installation of the new emperor, Hirohito. Condition of this book: Covers worn with a small chunk missing from the back, cracks at joints, but binding sound. Internally fine. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
