Heavy quarto, later edition, pp. vii, 1000, 376, 55 (concordance), xii (index), 8 (family records), 4 (photo album), embossed morocco covers with gilt lettering to spine and gilt ownership label on front, all edges gilt, illustrations in text, illustrated plates, color maps. With Abner and Sarah A. Metzger's name on front, the family record contains marriages and births but the photo section has only one print, a CDV of a young woman by a Salem, Ohio, studio. Not in Darlow & Moule. Hills 1779 dates the first printing of this Bible to 1864. Cobbin was an independent minister and educator in Britain who compiled numerous books (DNB online). He compiled this work according to the "Authorized Version," i.e. the King James. Condition of this book: Good and sound with rubbed extremities and blemishes to the covers, dulled gilt, foxing at preliminary leaves only, cracked front hinge. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
