Second state signified by five-line colophon and cranberry boards, politically incorrect Joseph Schindelman illustrations, which were excised from later editions (the oompah-loompahs were considered racial caricatures). Condition of this book: Very good with faint minor spotting to the covers. Jacket is good only, with numerous non-fatal flaws, including stains, a blemish, short tears at edges, and price clipped. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 162. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
