DE GOUY, L.P. The Derrydale Cook Book of Fish and Game [in 2 volumes], New York: Derrydale Press, 1937. Octavo, first edition, copy No. 1102 of 1,250 printed by Eugene Connett (the Derrydale founder), pp. xx, 308; xxvi, 330, maroon cloth boards with green lettering and rules on spines, Derrydale hunting-goddess logo stamped on upper boards inside gilt and green frames. I haven't tried any of these recipes but they look like they would fit right in at an upscale 21st-century gastro-pub, although De Gouy created them many decades ago. See entry No. 114 in Henry Siegel's Derrydale bibliography. Also see Axford p. 113. Condition of these books: Very good but lacking slipcase. Boards show minor edge wear. Leaves clean and tight, age-toned, a few small stains at edges. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 2-volume set (complete). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1-2 kilos. Category: Cooking, Wine & Dining; United States; 1930s; Fishing & Hunting. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 53938.
