Massadah and Alumoth, Metal, Book Condition: Fine, Dust Jacket Condition: No, Unstated
SYZK, ARTHUR [designer and illustrator]. The Haggadah, Jerusalem: Massadah and Alumoth, undated. Octavo, unpaginated with 48 double leaves, burnished metal binding elaborately tooled and stamped, turquoise inlays, text in English and Hebrew, edited by Cecil Roth. Gift inscription dated 1971 on the Hebrew front pastedown. There were various designs used in the metal Haggadahs, some involving semiprecious stones, some not. Dealers have referred to this binding as "silver," but it's more like stainless steel or aluminum. In any case no excuses are needed for it. It's a thing of beauty. Condition of this book: Binding unflawed and gorgeous, creasing to endpapers (they tend to get caught by the metal edges of the binding), small brown stains to fore edge. Overall very good and attractive. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1-2 kilos. Category: Art & Design; Religion & Theology.
