Tall folio, part of a 27-year project to record history as it happened, this volume released in 24 installments containing more than 100 expressionist drawings, some in color, in its original folio, with duplicate copies of a title sheet that has a gift inscription. Heavy brown stock, measuring 29x46cm or 18x11 inches, with 2 color posters folding out to four and six times that size. The artist, an expressionist born in Poland, became a British citizen after World War II, which he had recorded extensively. His Chronicles began in 1953 and are considered a significant contribution to the historical record. This set deals with events and people of Moscow, Africa, Poland, England and elsewhere. Scarce in its complete form. Condition of this set: Very good with tape ghosts to the folder, occasional chipping to the edges of the prints, some of the folds are delicate, with small splits. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
