Folio, pp. 67, orange cloth boards bound in black cloth with silver lettering on spine, 27 color plates tipped in, facing pages of commentary, essay by the artist, introduction by Gwen Morton Spencer, who calls Preston "Australia's most original painter." Signed on the half-title page by the artist. Preston (1875-1963) studied under Australian artists and Europeans, returning from Europe to become Australia's most influential artist, fusing aboriginal motifs and contemporary styles. This book includes a complete list of Preston's monotypes and their owners. Condition of this book: Boards scuffed and scratched, slightly bowing but sound. Leaves clean and tight, images fine. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
