Twin Palms, 1989, Hardcover (Original Cloth), Book Condition: Near Fine, Dust Jacket Condition: Fine, First
COLEMAN, JUDY. Judy Coleman, California: Twin Palms, 1989. Folio, first edition, unpaginated, black cloth boards with silver lettering on spine and upper panel, 5-page essay by Elaine Dines-Cox, 54 plates, 1 gate-fold, all nudes, the only model being the photographer herself, using a 30-foot cable. Dines-Cox explains Coleman's technique as a multimedia process involving Polaroids, painting and assemblage. What does it all mean? It "depends upon the individual viewer's experiential knowledge of the world." Definitely not straight photography, nor is it conventional surrealism -- call it a psycho-fantasy.
