Sheed & Ward, 1934, Hardcover (Original Cloth), Book Condition: Very Good Condition, Dust Jacket Condition: Good, First Edition

Includes letter by author, and inscription: "This book belongs to Julie Roe as written and corrected by Violet Clifton, Isle of Islay 1936." The letter enclosed, which is faded in places, reads: "My dear Mr P[cannot decipher remainder], Thank you so much for writing also - my boy will not get involved with anyone else now. I did make it clear - did I not - that he wishes to go as as a "hand" not as a passenger? Your word "c[indecipherable]" made me wonder. I shall like to know, of course, how long he would be away. If you happen to come to town, do look me up. Faithfully, Violet Clifton." There is also attached by a pin a newspaper clipping photo of Violet, which would appear to be dateable at 1935. This is the first UK edition. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Dust Jacket has small closed tears, but otherwise complete and overall sound. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilogram. Category: Poetry; Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 1995.
