A modern pioneer, Flynn was regarded as a hero in the Northern Territory and was the mentor of a young Fred Hollows. Together they pioneered the treatment of trachoma among northern aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders. Fred Flynn is an Australian whom we should not forget.
