This is an 1822 Antique Engraving Print of Simon Lord Lovat, by William Hogarth, taken from "The Works of William Hogarth, from the original plates as restored by James Heath Esq. R.A; with the addition of many subjects not before collected: to which are prefixed, A Biographical essay on the Genius and Productions of Hogarth and Explanation of the Subjects of the Plates" This plate is an earlier impression of Hogarth's work. Many of these plates were formerly in the possession of Alderman Boydell; others belonged to Mr T. Cook, (who himself copied many of Hogarth's engravings;) others were purchased at various sales. The image is within plate mark sized 245 x 375 mm. The overall page is sized 425 x 575 mm. The engraving is in excellent condition, with only a few tiny tears along the edges of the page.
