Text is in Spanish. Monumental 6 volume work on the architecture and art of churches of Mexico by Mexican painter and writer, Gerardo Murillo Cornado, more commonly known by his signature, Dr. Atl, and containing the architectural photographs of Guillermo Kahlo (Frida Kahlo's father). Published between 1924 and 1927 the six volumes each cover a different aspect of church architecture: 1. Cupulas (Domes); 2. La Catedral de Mexico (The Cathedral of Mexico); 3. Tipos Ultra-Barrocos Valle de Mexico (Ultra Types- Baroque Valley of Mexico); 4. Tipos Poblanos (Poblano Types); 5. Altares (Altars); 6.1525-1925. Containing hundreds of illustrations, with numerous hand colour illustrations by Dr. Atl. The second volume text is by Manuel Toussaint and the sixth volume with texts by Dr. Atl, Manuel Toussaint, and J. R. Benitez, and containing 1 folding illustration, 2 folding maps, and 1 folding chart. Ex-Flinders University Library, plates and stamps. Moderate handling wear. Rubbing to board edges, staining to some boards. Bright interior, minor offsetting from plates and glue from the mounting. Closed tear to bottom edge of page 65/6 in volume 5 repaired with tape.
