Dancer and choreographer Tsai Jui-yueh (1921-2005) is widely considered the mother of modern dance in Taiwan. Having heard her homeland described as a "barren desert for dance" while studying dance in Japan, she resolved to return to Taiwan and promote the art. She did this with such success that she and her studio are now nationally iconic. In this book, the oral history of these events and many others are written down, as spoken, by Tsai Jui-yueh herself, accompanied by photos from throughout her life and around the world. In her later years Tsai Jui-yueh moved to Brisbane where she continued dancing and teaching. Size: 20cm x 21cm. 175 pages. Light soiling/marks/foxing to outside edges, endpapers, occasionally throughout. Plastic protective coat. Shipped Weight: .4 kilos. Inscribed by Author. ISBN: 9570214708. ISBN/EAN: 9789570214703.
