? Sanctuary Publishing, 1997, Hardcover, Book Condition: Very Good
Previous owner's name to flyleaf, clean pages, somewhat loose boards, top corners of which are bumped. It's a good read and a unique book. Based on stories about individual guitarists with chapters on different aspects this isn't an academic or theoretical study - it's definitely hands-on (the author was a teenage guitarist and is now a session player). From first cheap guitars and amplification experiments to the gig circuit and finally sessions there's a wealth of anecdotal background on the UK guitar scene of the '50s and '60s. Nothing is covered exhaustively and the timeline follows the stories but if you can accept that, it's an enjoyable journey. (Reader review) 240 pages. Quantity Available: 1.
