Brown gilt-stamped half leather and brown cloth over boards, 5 raised bands, frontispiece folding map of the Northeast Corner of the Mediterranean, (xxii), 459 pages, profusely illustrated with drawings, maps, and plates, some with tissue. Corners and spine ends bumped and worn, edges of spine worn, covers rubbed, text block soiled, some pages toned, newspaper clipping glued to front pastedown which offsets the FFEP, front hinge cracked, spine working loose but is still firmly attached, front map bent, lower portion of page 458 stained.
