One Summer evening in 1952 a young New Zealand pilot and six companions stood outside the local aero club at Mangere airfield Auckland, and for twenty minutes watched a phenomenon that, they7 agreed, could only been an Unidentified Flying Object. From then on the pilot - Brude Cathie, who is now a Fokker Friendship captain with the National Airways Corporation of New Zealand (1968) began a serious study of UFOs.
