"Celebrated Australian artist Richard Larter has died in Canberra at the age of 85. Larter used the plains and hills around Canberra to inspire much of his work and is one of Australia's most recognized pop artists. He was born in London in 1929 and emigrated to Australia in 1962 with his wife Pat, who was a muse for much of his art. Larter's work combined his early European influences with the emerging contemporary pop art movement. Using hypodermic syringes to create some pieces, his bold style and methods pushed towards the boundary of abstract and challenged perceived boundaries between so-called high and low art." - Carl Smith ABC News Website Stapled Card Covers.
