Annie Besant was a former British socialist, theosophist, women's rights activist, writer, orator, and supporter of both Irish and Indian self-rule. In 1890 Besant met Helena Blavatsky, and over the next few years her interest in theosophy grew & in 1907 she became president of the society. The seven chapters, all with illustrative quotations, are on: "The Unity of God"; "The Manifestation of God in a Universe"; "The Great Orders of Living Beings"; "The Incarnation of Spirit"; "The Two Basic Laws"; "The Three Worlds of Human Evolution"; & "The Brotherhood of Man". To the rear is a list of books quoted from & two pages of books published by the Theosophical Society. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 191 pages.
