In 'The Hills of Home' he writes about the Scottish landscape & its influence on the Scottish mind & soul especially in the literature of Scottish writers such as Sir Walter Scott & Robert Louis Stevenson. Stevenson's essays include 'The Pentland Rising' the subject of which is a little known Covenanter rebellion culminating with their rout at Rullion Green in the Pentlands.
