This volume records the proceedings of a postgraduate course in cell culture in 1963. The course was in four parts. One) a cell biology symposium seeking to review recent advances in important disciplines within the "new biology" and some selected techniques of tropical importance. Each lecture was followed by general discussion (but only the formal contributions are included in these proceedings). Two) the course of lectures on the principles and techniques of cell structure and their application to selected disciplines. Three) a series of experiments conducted by each student.
