The text is illustrated with both black and white photographs and black-and-white contemporary illustrations. Dull red coloured boards with gilt titles to the front panel and backstrip. Bumping to be backstrip edges and to the book corners. Rubbing, marking and staining to the book panels. Significant cocking of the spine. Light age toning of the endpapers and of the internal text. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Illustrated dustwrapper with dull red coloured titles to the front panel and white titles to the backstrip. Rubbing to be dustwrapper edges and dustwrapper panels. Chipping to the corners of the dustwrapper to the backstrip edges. There is a piece missing from the top right-hand corner of the dustwrapper panel and there are tears to the four corners of the backstrip. Fading to the backstrip and staining to the front dustwrapper panel. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over panel, lower right-hand corner.
