XVI, 304 pages, acknowledgements, list of illustrations, list of maps, appendices, abbreviations, notes, bibliography and index. Green coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with numerous contemporary black-and-white photographs and/or illustrations along with numerous maps from the first 50 years of Ballarat's life. Bottle green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt titles. Rubbing and slight fading to the backstrip edges and to the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and of the internal text. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with white titles to the front panel and backstrip. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and there is heavy rubbing creasing to the dustwrapper edges and lighter rubbing to the dustwrapper panels. There are numerous tears to both the top and bottom dustwrapper edges ranging in size from 0.25 " through to 2.5 "-- most with associated creasing. Some fading of the dustwrapper has also occurred.
