VIII, 9-176 pages. Black coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Red coloured tint to the top text block edge. A little rubbing to the backstrip edges and to the book corners. Browning of the text block edges and dust marks to the book boards. This book was once part of the Victorian Police College Library and has library stamp to the half title page and the occasional stamp to the front fore paper edge throughout the text. The Date Due page and library pocket still in situ to the end of the endpaper. On the backstrip there is a white 'S' and a sticker with the relevant library details to the lower edge of the backstrip. Browning to the internal text. This is the recounting of the death of Sir Harry Oakes on July 9, 1943 in the Bahamas. To the time of writing the book the crime was still not solved as there was local political and social intrigue along with the victim and own complex personal affairs hampered the efforts to find out who actually killed Sir Harry Oakes.
