Coloured Illustrated frontispiece, by Alfred Sindall, who has also drawn the numerous black-and-white illustrations within the text. Blue coloured boards with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for frontispiece, with blue coloured background and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A book written in the late 1940s dealing with mysterious tenants of Rungate Manor. Bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. Browning and a few faint foxing spots to the top book and browning to the lower book edge. Browning and offset tanning to the end papers with light browning and the occasional foxing spot to the internal text. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down, which has ghosted on to the lower left-hand corner of the free front end paper. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the backstrip edges. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and browning to the verso of the dustwrapper.
