Tan coloured boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, by George Underwood, with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A novel set in Mexico in 1922 with a young Irishman (with ties to the IRA) and a rogue priest and a treasure. Bumping and rubbing to the head into the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to the book corners. Shelf wear to the lower book edges. A few marks and rubs to the book panels. Browning and foxing to the text block edges. Browning to the endpapers and lighter browning to the internal text. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower edge of the front paste-down. A previous owner has placed the date 20/3/92 and the number 1256 to the top edge of the front paste down in lead pencil. Rubbing and chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners and to the top backstrip edge. Heavy rubbing and creasing to the dustwrapper edges and multiple small tears to both the top and lower dustwrapper edges. There is a 0.75 " to the lower left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel with creasing. Rubbing along the fold over edges. The white of the backstrip and the back dustwrapper panel has become quite yellowed and shows noticeable handling marks. Size: 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall. VIII, 224 pages, last page blank. .
