Turner on front panel, with gilt coloured titles on the backstrip. Brown coloured tint to top paper edge. A history of English painting from 1500-1780 and using various English painters of various different periods and styles. Bumping into the head and to the heel of the spine and to the book corners. The top book corner has become frayed with underlying board visible. A few stains to the lower book edges and the medallion on the front board has become somewhat rubbed.
