The text is illustrated with black-and-white line illustrations and 28 coloured plates and 37 black-and-white plates. White coloured boards with black writing on the front panel and spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the lower book corners. Shelfwear to the lower book edges and dust marks to the top book edges. Foxing and browning to the paper edges. Very slight browning to the internal pages of the major fault is that the rear hinge has split and underlying webbing can be seen. Handling marks to the internal pages as well. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing three different artists work against a black background with white writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed and faded and the corners also slightly chipped. There has been creasing and folding to the top dustwrapper edge and there is a little piece missing from the top spine edge.
