Black-and-white Illustrated frontispiece by Henry Pitz and there are another 3 black-and-white full-page illustrations within the text. At the beginning of all chapters there is a small black-and-white vignette. Yellow coloured boards with an illustration of two men fighting with swords in Elizabethan costume on the front panel with black coloured titles to the front panel and spine. A novel set during Elizabethan time dealing with tall ships and sailors -- a novel for juvenile readers. Bumping and a little training of the head and the heel of the spine and there is some bumping and rubbing of the book corners. The cloth of the board has become somewhat rubbed and stained and there has been noticeable fading of the spine. The back panel is quite grubby and stained and the back board is slightly bowed particularly at the corners. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front pace down and it has ghosted to the free front endpaper. There is staining to the front edge of the front paste down and the front endpaper. Water staining to the front edge and lower edge of the frontispiece and also on the 3 full-page text illustrations there has been water staining. The internal pages are browned and there are handling marks and foxing marks as well. This is the First USA Edition. Size: 12mo (standard paperback). 214 pages, last blank. .
