Olive coloured endpapers. Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece by Paul Hardy. There are three other black-and-white illustrations listed by Paul Hardy, but the illustration listed for 112 is missing. Dark blue boards with illustration of a young woman in the yellow against a green ' vine ' design on the front panel and a smaller version on the spine. Gilt writing to both the front panel and spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and there is some rubbing as well. Bumping, rubbing and fraying to the book corners. The cloth of the board is rubbed, faded and somewhat stained. Staining particularly noticeable on the spine. Browning and staining to the top paper edges and browning to the other edges. On the front paste down the remains of a " Prize Plate " can be seen -- there has been total removal of the paper and only the glue remains. A little chipping to the top of the free front endpaper. Browning to the internal pages. A story set during Queen Charlotte's reign in England. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
