90pp., last 2 blank, author's preface. Black coloured boards with red writing embossed on the front panel and spine. Bumping and fraying to the book corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. There has been loss of colour to the top and to the bottom of the front panel edges, ? due to insect activity. Browning and dust marks to the paper edges along with foxing. The front hinge has split for the top 2.5 ", underlying webbing can be seen. Slight offset training and there is foxing to the endpapers and slightly throughout the book. Handling marks are present internally. Illustrated dust wrapper, showing a church and its graveyard, with a yellow background in black writing on the front panel and spine. The dust wrapper is rubbed and faded and sunning has caused the back panel and spine to darken. Chipping, with loss, has occurred to all corners. The first 3/4" of spine is missing and there is missing pieces from the lower dust wrapper edge. There are tears along fold over creases and generally the dust wrapper is in ordinary shape.
