Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dust wrapper, by Tudor Humphries, with yellow and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A young boy survives an attack on a missionary village in China. He and his saviour, Mrs Jones, head to Tibet and to more adventures. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the corners of the book. The extreme edges of the book have been slightly discoloured as well. Browning and marking to the top paper edge and the top paper has also been slightly crushed. Some marks to the boards. On the front paste island that has been a Book Exchanges' stamp inexpertly rubbed out. The dustwrapper has been slightly faded and there is very slight chipping to the top dustwrapper edge. Dustwrapper has been somewhat sunned though. This British edition precedes the E. P. Dutton First American Edition. This is the first UK edition.
