Within the text there are black and white photographs, black and white illustrations and three maps. Tan coloured boards with black writing on the spine. Shelf wear evident to the bottom edges of the book and bumping to the head into the heel of the spine. Dust marks to the top paper edge. Illustrated dustwrapper, by Adrian Young, with yellow and white writing on the front panel and black and red on the spine. The dustwrapper is very rubbed particularly on the front and back panels. The corners are slightly chipped and there has been fading of the spine due to sun damage. Creasing to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. On the front panel there was a sticker stating "New South Wales Premier's Literary Award -- Special Award for the International Year of Peace".
