224 pp., from the children in the Princess Elizabeth hospital, introduction by J. M. Barrie, acknowledgements. Illustrated endpapers by Rex Whistler. Coloured illustrated frontispiece, of princess Elisabeth by Phillipe De Laszlo. The book is illustrated with with 2 double page colour spreads by the Disney Studios, and six other full-page illustrations by other artists including A.H. Watson, H. M Talintyre and others, as well as numerous black and white illustrations and line drawings. White cloth boards with blue decoration and writing on the front panel and spine. The corners are bumped and rubbed as is the head and heel of the spine, the bottom edge of the spine has a few tears in the cloth. The cloth is discoloured and marked and there has been sun damage to the spine. Dust marks and foxing to the top paper edge and foxing to the other edges. The foxing has happened throughout the book as has handling marks (foxing does not intrude upon coloured plates). Front hinge slightly loose. All in all the book is in reasonable condition for its age. An anthology put together, in approximately 1935, of stories, poems and rhymes to help raise money for the Princess Elizabeth Of York Hospital for Children. Includes a Rupert Story by Mary Tourtel -- Rupert the Little Bear goes Adventuring in the Robbers Den, Algernon Blackwood -- What the Black Chow Saw plus others. Size: 4to 9�" - 12" tall.
