The rear of the book there are 3 foldout maps, one: a map of part of southern Australia, incorporating South Australia, map 2: being a map of Port Lincoln and its environs, map 3: being a map of Kangaroo Island. Bright blue boards with gilt embossed title on front panel. Corners have minor rubbing and the head and the heels spine are bumped and have loss of colour. The book panels have some scuffing marks. The printing of book is rather substandard as this is in early publication of Public Library of South Australia. The pages are also not cut, this being a xerographic reproduction. This book was first published in London in 1834 and sets sights at a new colony in South Australia, with description of the local environment incorporated into the text.
