Coloured illustrated frontispiece by Elisabeth Cochrane, and the numerous illustrations used within the text are also done by the same illustrator. Green coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. All edges of the book are slightly rubbed and there are dust marks to the same edges. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Elisabeth Cochrane, with white background with black titles on the front panel and spine. The corners of the dustwrapper are slightly creased and wrinkled. There is a 0.25" tear on the top spine gutter on front panel and some grubby marks to the back panel. A republishing of articles written by the author for children in the early 1960s for a newspaper about the natural plants [and fauna] to be found in and around Victoria.
