The text is copiously illustrated with both black and white and coloured photography and there are also some contemporary black and white sketches. Black coloured boards with white coloured titles to the backstrip. Photographic dustwrapper, showing St. John the Baptist church, Canberra, with black coloured titles to the front panel and yellow coloured titles to the backstrip. The churches within this text were all built prior to the gold rush in the 1850s. They were built by the congregations themselves and were made out of the wide variety of local materials, and the churches were usually constrained by financial concerns. The corners of the book slightly rubbed as are the head and heel of spine. There are some marks to the paper edges. Corners of the dustwrapper are rubbed and slightly chipped, and there are some tears along the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. There are some creases along the front fold over, one in a triangular fashion the other full-length of the front flap. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
