The text is illustrated with contemporary black and white photographs. Black coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Photographic dustwrapper, showing the great synagogue of Sydney, with pale blue coloured background with white and black coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the backstrip. The First Jews in Australia came with the First Fleet in 1788. the first organised religious ceremony was in 1828. Then in 1878 the magnificent Great Synagogue of Sydney was built, this book celebration of 100 years of the synagogue and a celebration of the history of Jews in Australia from Australia's birth. Light rubbing to the book corners and minor shelf wear on bottom edges of book. Softening to the backstrip edges and there are some dust marks to the top paper edge. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and rubbing to the dustwrapper edges and dustwrapper panels. On the bottom right-hand corner of the front panel there has been removal of the top layer of the dustwrapper with removing of a price sticker. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
