Illustrated endpapers by maps, both different, front endpaper showing a state map of Victoria, and rear endpaper showing suburban railway lines. Photographic frontispiece, showing two black and white photographs, one, wheat harvesting, and the other, Yallourn power station. Within the text there are numerous black and white photographs, maps -- one, a coloured fold out, tables and diagrams. Brown coloured boards with gilt writing on spine. Corners slightly rubbed and there is loss of colour, of the boards, to the bottom edge front panel. The head and the heel of spine soft and bumped. There are grubby marks on the front end papers. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a geographical view of Victoria (in black and white]. The dust wrapper is rubbed and faded with rubbing particularly notable along spine gutter edges. There is chipping to the corners and there is a piece missing from the front panel close to the spine measuring 1.25 " x 0.5". There is creasing and chipping along the top edge of back panel, and there is a small piece missing on bottom panel edge, with chipping accounting for the 0.25" bottom of spine of the dustwrapper. This book was planned for members attending the 31st meeting of Australian And New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science ( ANZAAS), and gives 25 studies on Victoria and its resources.
