The text illustrated with black and white illustrations, photography and maps. Red cloth boards with gilt writing on spine. The corners are bumped as is the head and the healer the spine. The covers are faded, particularly along the top edges of both front and back panel. The spine is somewhat sunned. On the ffep., there is both previous owner's sticker and booksellers sticker. There is brown stain on the front and back endpapers, running the full length of the book and 3" wide. Illustrated dustwrapper, with white background and red writing on front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed and faded. The corners are chipped and there is chipping along the top dustwrapper edge. On back panel there are some pieces missing from the top edge.
