144 pp., acknowledgements and index. Black and white photographic endpapers showing different scenes. The text is illustrated with over 200 coloured photographs from all over Australia. Blue boards with gilt writing on spine. Corners are rubbed and there is shelf wear evident on the bottom edge of book, the head and the heel of the spine is also rubbed. There has been some fading of the covers. Photographic dustwrapper, on front cover showing an early Homestead, and on the back cover John Flynn's cairn. The dustwrapper has a 2" tear running from the top spine, which has been repaired by tape which is still present. So there are some small chips to the top of the dustwrapper and the top corner is also chipped. This book is a plea by the authors for the preservation of Australia's history. They argue, that Australia's history "...is all around us -- in the buildings, the folk songs, the highways and byways. Today these material records of Australia are in danger of being lost, prey to indifference and ignorance.". Size: 4to 9" - 12" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1.
